Started this audiobook today. I bought a hard copy at a library sale recently just based on how cool the cover is. So far it‘s really interesting historical fiction set on the eve of WWII in Transylvania about a Hasidic sect, the Samtar.

I liked the historical fiction aspects of this books. The modern park in New York was still interesting, because I don‘t feel I get to read many fiction books about practicing Jews (one of which I am).
Set in Romania during WWII and spanning to a modern day Hasidic community in Brooklyn, NY, this was a wonderful novel about faith, disillusionment and culture. Cannot recommend enough! Probably time for a reread. #setineasterneurope #photoadaynov16
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
A poetically told story against a background of heinous murders and lost families.
