The Legend of Drizzt: Exile
The Legend of Drizzt: Exile | R. A. Salvatore
Drizzt Do'Urden made his first mistake the moment he was born; he was a boy. In the rigid matriarchy of the dark elf city of Menzoberranzan, that makes his life forfeit. But when his own mother tries but fails to kill him, Drizzt's path is set. He must find a way to escape the treacherous Underdark, even if that means setting out alone into the no less dangerous World Above.

I love these books for the action and the camaraderie, the world building and the adrenaline rush, but even more so these quiet moments of reflection from Drizzt in the beginning of a section should never be overlooked because they add a deeper layer of emotion. Also, does anyone have difficulty with a re-read if you know something hard is coming? 😭🤔🫠 #currentlyreading #thisImustbelieve

Columbus Market paid dividends again with this memorable 💎 of a statue I had to have. So of course I had to get the books again for a fond re-read. This beautiful copy came on my radar. #currentlyreading #afondreread #lovethisseries #teamdrowelf 💙🥹

I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.
Join the fun if you want. This is day 89

Okay my Litsy friends who are so much more familiar with Drizzt. I have been wanting to get into this series. Turns out my sister came into randomly owning this omnibus. It contains Homeland, Exile and Sojourn.

Is this the start of Drizzt‘s story? Can I safely start here or is there something before it? Please educate me!

Branwen YES! This is a great place to start the series! 4y
Sweetkokoro @Branwen Not gonna I was lowkey thinking you might be one of the ones who would have this answer! This makes me happy knowing I can start the series now! 4y
Branwen @Sweetkokoro 🤣😂👏 Yes, this is a favorite series of mine! I really hope you like it! 😁 4y

Sweetkokoro @branwen I‘m really hoping to as well. I came across Timeless and I loved the synopsis but found out it takes place wayyyyyy into the entire series, so I was a sad panda. 4y
DaveGreen7777 @Branwen beat me to it! 😁😂 I agree that the Dark Elf trilogy is a great place to start. The early Drizzt books are ordered kinda like the Star Wars movies... the first three Drizzt books Salvatore wrote was the Icewind Dale trilogy, and next he wrote the Dark Elf trilogy, but Dark Elf actually takes place before the Icewind books. So, much like Star Wars, if you want to go in chronological order, you have to start with the second trilogy! 4y
Sweetkokoro @DaveGreen7777 Ahh and you would be another whom I thought would have the information I was questing for! And you showed up with even more! This is why I was asking since I saw the other trilogy being mentioned but not why!! So this information was helpful! I can safely start with this trilogy since I want chronological order. 4y
Branwen @DaveGreen7777 I always think of you when this series is brought up! 😁💖 4y
DaveGreen7777 @Branwen Awww, right back atcha, Becky! 🤗💖 4y

Rereading these and continuing on in the long list of books featuring Drizzt Do‘urden. When it comes to books like this I‘m a junkie for them.

The Legend of Drizzt: Exile | R. A. Salvatore

Book II of the series. Drizzt is on the run from his own people, surviving on his own in dangerous parts of the Underdark. R.A. Salvatore doesn't disappoint.

Violetta I've been a big fan of Drizzt some time ago, but never got to the end, there are more than 20 books in the series! 😅 But the first trilogy was the best. 6y
jfalkens @Violetta 30 plus now lol he's still writing them 😱 it's my first time reading them but my husband likes them a lot 😊 6y
Violetta Oh I've lost the count! 😂 30 plus, wow! 6y

jfalkens @Violetta lol the last one(in the Drizzt series) just came out in September so there might be more in the future. My husband stopped getting them at 28, for The Forgotten Realms series, which is up to 44. 6y
Violetta I've read 6 or 7 and stopped because after the first trilogy they seemed to become quite the same, and I still have this small collection somewhere at home. But they still continue to publish them in Russian, so there are lots of fans! 6y
Foxyfictionista Ah, I remember this cover! I love cheesy fantasy or sci fi covers. 😍 6y
jfalkens @Foxyfictionista I love old fantasy covers too 😊 6y

Coleen_Nieto This is the only series my husband reads! 6y
jfalkens @Coleen_Nieto my husband doesn't read much either, it's his book, his books fit in ONE plastic tote! 6y
Coleen_Nieto Exactly! My husband can't understand why I have so many books 6y
Jenny I really like that series. 6y
jfalkens @Coleen_Nieto my husband is pretty good about my book collection, he does complain sometimes about my to-read bookcase but he still gets me more books and converted one of the spare rooms in our house into my library 😊 6y
Coleen_Nieto @jfalkens sounds like he's a keeper! Have a great weekend! 6y
jfalkens @Coleen_Nieto he is 😊thanks, you too! 6y
