It was a okay book. There wasn‘t really a plot to it though and I skimmed the last little bit.

Not quite what I expected but still enjoyable. Slightly creepy with a very slow build to uncover the protagonists' secrets. Two neighbors in an isolated mountain area become involved with each other's lives -one young and hiding, the other old and meddling. There is a WWII story line that was unexpected but became very interesting. Good but not great creepy character-driven mystery.

Good story, but there seemed to be some distance from the characters.

"I love a book with an ambiguous title. What exactly does “new neighbor” mean? Is that a good thing or a bad thing? And who is the new neighbor? Even better when the story itself is just as much of a conundrum." Reviewed by Thalia https://goo.gl/zdSRbG

I'm caught between a like & so-so. I found it slow and was waiting for something at the end. Decent story overall with some quotable parts which I like.

LitHousewife I read it at a leisurely pace, so I guess I didn't notice that as much. I was pleasantly surprised by Margaret's story, too. 8y

The hardcover got a little warped when I took the book to the beach. It's very appropriate because I found it to be a good beach read. Jennifer's relationship with Zoe hit me hard because I, too, have a Daddy's girl. I wasn't expecting the second backstory, which was a pleasant surprise. Good book!

The kids are swimming at the pool across the street. They don't appreciate mom nearby, so I'm sitting in my lawn chair reading within hearing distance.

LitHousewife @jennifersmeth They hate it, but oh well. Plus the other kid's parents and I back each other up. 8y
