I wanted something pleasant and easy. Which... Now that I type that out is probably an odd description for a murder mystery 😂. But it's a JD Robb so I knew what the plot was going before I started it, with just enough differences from the other 50 books in the series to be new to me.

No. 50 in the series, Golden is of the best In Death books in a while. I liked the connections. My only teeny complaint is the double negative on page 318. Maybe it was deliberate (it was Eve speaking, but she usually only has problems with idioms, not grammar). Regardless, double negative = nails on a chalkboard.

Book 5/4 for #jubliantjuly and another free space on my #bookspin bingo board (I‘m rockin‘ the free spaces! 😂)

I‘m winding down after a long day by enjoying the sunset & starting the tagged (a library hold that finally came in today). After 6 weeks of living out of a suitcase, my stuff is finally here and I get to sleep in my own bed in my new apartment tonight. 🍹🥳

ljuliel It‘s very irritating, isn‘t it ? The long lines turn me off. I‘ve stopped reserving books. By the time hundreds of people have read it , I‘ll forget I ever wanted it. I just move on and look for something else. 5y

ljuliel Yes I understand. There are some books I might wait on, if it were something I was really excited for. Either that, or I‘d end up buying it if I couldn‘t wait. I hope your line moves quickly ! 5y

emtobiasz I‘m really digging my heels in and refusing to pay for books when publishers won‘t deal fairly with libraries (...aka MacMillan). I worry that I‘m penalizing authors for the sins of the publishers, but I refuse to let my money reflect any bump in sales for this stupid deal. 5y

ljuliel @emtobiasz I hope it‘ll work. It‘s frustrating , I know. I talked to the people at the reference desk at our library and they said the problem is, that other publishers ( smaller than MacMillan) are owned by them, so they will follow the same rules, then from what they hear , other big publishers aren‘t far behind and will do the same. She said they are trying to work a deal out of some type but I‘m not sure what. 😟 (edited) 5y
