Up next! 💖📚 I never heard of this one before but the cover caught my eye at the library so I took a chance on it! 😀 I hope it's good! Roxas is also excited about it, as you can tell! 😸 #catsoflitsy #littenkitten #roxas

#readingUSA2019 - 7 more added, now at 32 states. Will carry these over to #readtheUSA2020 to finish the remaining 18 states. Tagged book was for Nevada, the desert town setting dripped with desolation and desperation. Loved it!
Bleak and desolate, with chapters all mixed up (an interesting idea that I liked at first but ultimately felt like a gimmick). Still, I couldn‘t put it down.
Murray says it‘s time to go to bed and finish this book already so we can move on to something else. 😒
I really liked the writing style, but I can see why it is a turn off to some. The chapters are numbered but told out of sequence. The novel begins with chapter 30. An depressing coming of age story set in the desert.
This is a tough one to review. I'm giving a straight middle of the road rating because there were parts I really liked and there were reasons I didn't like it that much. (But I still respect the heck out of this book and the author.)
Here is my patchwork review that I will polish up in a bit: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/2894260167
