Only one ghost, but pretty central to the plot.

Hamlet is a "revenge tragedy," in which Hamlet seeks vengeance against his father's murderer, his uncle Claudius, the king of Denmark. Much of its fascination lies in its uncertainties. What is the Ghost--Hamlet's father demanding justice, a tempting demon, an angelic messenger? Does Hamlet go mad, or merely pretend to? Claudius is a murderer, why does he not act? Was his mother unfaithful to her husband or complicit in his murder?

I have a copy of Hamlet that, according to the stamped label in the front, a relative of my mother-in-law used during the 1923-1924 school year. #sundayfunday

I wanted to move on from Hamlet to Macbeth by October for some witchy fun, but, oh well, #ghosts work for #scarathlon, too! 👻

October 17 #ScarsthlonWordSearchPrompt Poison @StayCurious I think Shakespeare liked poison to kill his characters. #TeamMonsterMash

* I was a English major and read a lot of classics, so I'm a little over that genre.
* 😮 🤐👹 💣
* I like the scare factor in horror. Ghost stories are my favorite, and I tend more toward psychological horror rather than gore. I also love horror mashups with other genres.
* On library shelves with spine views, I start with title. Online books, I go by cover.

Lots of #Murder in this Shakespeare play: the old king, Polonius, Claudius, Gertrude, Leartes, and eventually Hamlet himself. And another one with ghosts!

Lord Polonius: What do you read, my lord? Hamlet: Words, words, words. Found my teeny tiny copy of Hamlet! 😍
