I still have a lot to unpack with this one, like why the character of the Witch reminded me so much of Ted Hughes‘ Crow, but I look forward to rereading and digging deeper into this incredible collection.

pickI bought this last year when I went to see the author speak on a panel, I hadn‘t heard of her at the time but bought the book cause she spoke so well. It took me a while to give it a try but this was INCREDIBLE. It‘s so rare for contemporary serious poetry to be funny as well as political as well as gorgeously written. Feminist, mystical and unexpected. The first poem is a guide to magically removing penises.
