Pickpick

This Alice in Wonderland inspired short story collection was somewhere between a pick and so-so for me. Some of the stories were fantastic and others just felt rather meh. Meanwhile, I skipped a few that just didn't draw me in. All in all, I'm glad I read it. Some of my favorite stories were Jonathan Green's " The Hunting of the Jabberwock", George Mann's "About Time", and Rio Youers' "Vanished Summer Glory".

I‘ve been participating in the #rwmphotobomb2020 challenge on Facebook and today‘s theme is “favorite bookmark.” I have a lot of cool bookmarks but my favorites are definitely the special ones that my friends have made for me. ❤️

Do you have a favorite bookmark?

Butterfinger Right now I'm infatuated with the magnetic ones. 5y
abookishbutterfly @Butterfinger I love those, too. I do have some Alice in Wonderland ones that my son bought for me! 5y

I have never been much of new year‘s resolution person but maybe some of the bookish goals I‘ve made for myself do constitute as resolutions. Let‘s talk about our reading goals for 2020! You can check out my latest video by clicking the link in my bio. https://youtu.be/qQN_6AsGrLY

#readingplans #readinggoals #readwhatyouhave #readingin2020 #bookgoals #bookbuyingaddiction #readwhatyoulove #booktube #bookgifts

EadieB @Butterflyamore Got great ideas from your video. I got Olive Again by Elizabeth Strout. Author is a Pulitzer Prize Winner. Don't know if you ever read her first book called Olive Ketteridge who is a beloved teacher/principal. Sister Caravaggio short stories by Irish authors such as; Maeve Binchy (who is my favorite), Peter Cunningham, Neil Donnelly, Cormac Millar and a few others. My husband gave me a $100 gift card to Amazon which I asked for. (edited) 5y
EadieB @Butterflyamore My goals for 2020 are similar to yours in that I need to read the books I own. I do read 200 books a year so I have a special bookcase where I keep the books for 2020. Some have been on my TBR forever so I am looking forward to reading those. Love your book cart idea! Also doing some Nordic Mystery Authors Buddy Reads which I have owned those books for a while. I need to limit the books that are coming in too so I like your ideas. 5y

EadieB @Butterflyamore I don't have any unfinished books but I have read A Tree Grows in Brooklyn which is a good book but you need to be in the mood for it so I can understand why you set it aside. I have read A Separate Peace in 2018 and can understand why you love that one. It is a book that does teach a good lesson. I've read a lot of Stephen King and do agree that you should read The Shining. Another favorite is 11/22/63 by him. 5y
EadieB @Butterflyamore I want to read John Connolly too as I have many of his books and will have to move his books to my 2020 bookcase. My favorite Agatha Christie book is And Then There Were None which is a locked room mystery. I also think The Murder of Roger Ackroyd is one of her best books too. I need to finish my century of mystery books published for 100 years. I am 1/2 done as I have read 50 books and 50 more to go to finish the century. 5y
abookishbutterfly @EadieB Is it safe to assume you‘re going to get books with that gift card? I have read some of Agatha Christie‘s books, including And Then There Were None, but I would like to include that as a reread in the next few years, as it has been 20 years since I read it. I haven‘t read Olive Kitteridge although I do own a copy of the book. 😬 It was pitched recently at our book club but it didn‘t end being our January pick. 5y
EadieB @Butterflyamore Yes the Amazon gift card is for books. I'm involved with the Nordic Buddy Reads and the library does not carry all the books. I own some but can find the rest on Amazon. 5y
