"It's windy in the forest today. I peer closely at the petals of the starflower. I kneel to the earth, my hands moisten from the earth, leaves of the lingonberry press on the backs of my hands. I immerse myself in the starflower. I am inside a white light. The light reflects yellow, green, blue. The just-opened petals of the starflower have a pink blush to them. Only slight, but from up close enough, striking. The light wraps around me, sheltering me. The light speaks to me, it says, you are safe, my dear child, they can never reach your soul." This is the story of the sexually abused Inka, who is alone with her secret. As an adult she attempts to find relief from her malaise. Inka first ends up in a mental institution where her shadow becomes visible. Inka has only the shadow, everything else has been taken away from her. Inka travels her dream-like path and tries out different self-help methods and alternative therapies. She breaks away from the Conservative Laestadian movement. She grows spiritually by studying yoga and gets acquainted with eastern mysticism, which takes her to yet more new landscapes, to yet more new paths.
