Pickpick

No Language is Neutral by Dionne Brand is a stunning poetry collection, and one I'm definitely happy to recommend. The second section of Hard Against the Soul and the section Return were my favourite parts, the ones that captivated me the most. Parts of the form weren't my general preference, but overall it was too captivating in content to pass up. My first time reading Dionne Brand, but not my last.

elizabethlk I'll also be counting this for the Reading Women 2020 challenge, which calls for a book by an author from the Caribbean or India (Dionne Brand is Canadian but was born and raised in Trinidad and Tobago). 5y
