been putting off reading this as it is the last.
This started out really boring. I thought it would pick up but it didn't. The characters were poorly introduced and one too many of them I couldn't keep it straight. I did read up to chapter 4 but it was a struggle.
I have to renew the plates on my truck and I got here way too early. Thank goodness I always have a book with me.
Finally! I've had this on hold for 3 months!!
Wouldn't have expected from the title that this book would follow the social lives of a bunch of senior citizens. Not too much mystery thus far, hoping it picks up a bit!
I tried. I don't mind slow beginnings, but the first chapter felt like an info sheet. The second chapter I couldn't connect with any character. And with a whole pile of tantalizing reads calling my name, begging for my eyes and mind, I bailed.
DNF.. Was bored and distracted with each page, I was told in the first chapter 'who done it'. There was nothing keeping me gripped to find out the why...
So, I went to the library to get The Girl Next Door, by Jack Ketchum... Couldn't find it; asked the librarian if it was in but not on shelf. She checks, yes! I didn't even look, was just happy that had one of my picks... Oops!! Do I read it, Is it worth it?
