Perfectly bleak poems for these strange, bleak times.
1. My homestate + shortening of my name 🤷🏾♀️
2. Legislative Counsel Proofreader
3. Recovering from surgery, watching too much tv, reading, #litsylove letters
4. Bukowski poetry (tagged)
5. I find journaling very therapeutic 📓🖋
Thanks @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks for the tag!

Came across this line while reading tonight. Seems very fitting given the current state of the world
Can anyone give me some recommendations? I loved this collection of Charles Bukowski poems from the later years of his life so much! I found it so absorbing and outrageously intoxicating, I really want to read more Bukowski! Can any recommend some of his work that they‘ve really loved? What should be the next Bukowski I read?
LOVED!!
So raw and honest and fascinating!
I definitely want to read more of his work 😍
I‘m not sure why but I just loved this stanza!
“It‘s all been so beastly
lovely,
this mad river,
this gouging
plundering
madness
that I would wish upon
nobody
but myself,
amen.”
“I tell you
such fine
music
waits
in the
shadows
of
hell”
“no baby, if you‘re going to create
you‘re going to create whether you work
16 hours a day in a coal mine
or
you‘re going to create in a small room with 3 children
while you‘re in
welfare
you‘re going to create with part of your mind and your body blown
away
you‘re going to create blind
crippled
demented
you‘re going to create with a cat crawling up your
back while
the whole city trembles in earthquake, bombardment
flood and fire”

'Be Kind'-Charles Bukowski
Thank you @MummaBear 😍
I've wanted to read Charles Bukowski for so long! He intrigues me so much! Cannot wait to get stuck in!
As you can see my Spring Break wasn't as productive as I had hoped. Still trying in my downtime! 👍
One of my favorites. #bluebird #bukowski #WorldPoetryDay
Finally starting this book! What is your favorite poetry book?
I am finally out for Spring Break! I set a goal to read at least two books over this next week and I am already halfway there! Now I am trying to read at least one a day. I have a few poetry books I haven't read yet so I think Bukowski's The Last Night of the Earth Poems should work out quite nice! Let's see what others I can tackle!
writing about a writer's block is better than not writing at all
animals never worry about Heaven or Hell. neither do I. maybe that's why we get along
