I forgot to post my #castthedie list! Thanks for the enabling @PuddleJumper 😍 I'm loving my options, and will likely also read from the tagged anthology of Lovecraft reclaimings by women authors 🕷️🧛♀️

Once I was a classicist, and travels in Europe were always lovingly termed “death marches through ancient history.” Now, I try to take my dog on as many walks as possible and sometimes at night (like tonight) the zoo has 21+ nights and I take a beer and dash through as many exhibits as possible after the sun goes down.
More rambling stories tomorrow at camp hazel if you are lucky!

This collection was SO GOOD! Full of monsters and kick-butt lady characters and all the weird I could have possibly asked for. I can't believe it took me so long to get back to it. I finished just in the nick of time last night, making it my last official Halloween read.
Can't wait for Mexican Gothic!
+315 pts for the stories I read this month and +1,160 pts for our most recent team game.

#pricedrop! Lovecraftian stories by female authors about female characters, which should fit me to a tee. Except... I'm three works into the sample and I am not wowed. I'm also bummed the interior artwork is wildly different from that gorgeous cover. This might be better for me as a library read.
Thank you @LadyChristy !!First off, I 💕 the two lovely pins: “Go Away I‘m Reading” and “Obstinate, headstrong girl - Jane Austen” They are so pretty! I adore the card you sent to. I might just frame it! I‘ve really wanted the Women in Science so I was very excited to see it in my loot. Love the cover for She Walks in Shadows! It looks really good. I‘m going to take Texts from Jane in as my subway 🚊read this morning. (Continued in comments.)
Not too bad for a short month! Seven in total, though I've got three currently going (A Conjuring of Light, Paradise Lost, and Born a Crime) so the number will jump again soon 😉
Love seeing everyone's #monthlyrecaps!
I know I've tagged this before, but guys, gals, and non binary pals, I just have to talk about how awesome this collection of #shortstories is! Female authors from all over the world wrote (and illustrated) deliciously creepy stories inspired by the Lovecraft mythos. Also, the cover makes me very happy. #booktober @RealLifeReading
One of the things I love the most about Litsy is how it's opened my eyes to pay attention to authors more. I used to never look at the author beyond, "oh, I liked this author before, maybe I'll like them again." Here's to continually expanding my horizons! #diversereads #booktober @RealLifeReading
