Loved it! A unique fairytale retelling, she manages to root the story in reality without taking anything away from the fairytale mood. Really artfully done! #Bookspin #BookspinBingo @TheAromaofBooks #MountTBR

This has been on my TBR for ages. Then, I bought it last year and still didn't read it. I finally read it recently and I am so happy I did! I love fairy tale retellings and this was basically a Sleeping Beauty retelling told through almost a historical fiction backdrop. It worked really well and was very believable! I am so happy I finally read it. Strongly recommended! (Also, this is me trying to use Litsy again. Wish me luck!)
Excellent take on the Sleeping Beauty fairytale. Blackwell weaves a tale that reads like historical fiction with subtle allusions to the fantastic. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/2
I started this novel when it was first published, but couldn‘t get into it, and wound up abandoning it. I‘m not sure why it clicked this time around, but I‘m happy it did because it‘s excellent so far. 😁
This was an amazing retelling of sleeping beauty I never knew I needed. If you're looking for a new book highly recommend it! Read in a night. It's story you thought you knew, told from a different light.
Anyone read this one? I loved how it worked the fairy tale from the inside out and made it so believable.
I found this very boring. I got about 75% through and just couldn't bring myself to care in the least. I generally like retellings but this was not for me.
I don't have any other books that are anything like this one. I'm trying to get into different genres and read some books I normally wouldn't. I want to read a bit of everything this year.
While Beauty slept / the night guest, the shadow in the wind, down the darkest road. NIghtwoods, / bones never lie. / The wonder that night? / The Snow Queen saving the world. #24in48 #18thhrchallenge #spinepoetry @24in48 All from 1 small shelf
I adore fairytale retellings and feel that this is one of the better Sleeping Beauty stories. I hope Blackwell will write more.

Another of my favorites this year! I absolutely love fairytale retellings!
