Made it back to my favorite bookstore! It truly is gorgeous and the staff are soooo nice. I bought the two books above - both signed! - and the pretty tote I included in my last post. It‘s probably a good thing I don‘t live in Raleigh, NC because my wallet couldn‘t survive it 🤣!
I did my “Prime” book shopping at my local indie, Quail Ridge Books, today! I got these two for myself and three others as gifts. The staff person who helped me was so fun to talk to, which we know you don‘t get when shopping online. I am looking forward to reading these!
Did a little holiday shopping at this local store while in town and was most impressed by the knowledgeable staff.
So many wonderful experiences this weekend! First time since Covid hit that I hopped a plane and saw my ride-or-die friend in North Carolina, first time IN NC, first time back in a movie theatre, first time going to a ton of delicious restaurants, and first time going to Quail Ridge Books! This bookstore is seriously one of the most beautiful bookstores I‘ve ever been in! Thank you vaccine 🙏!
My friends know how much I love Quail Ridge Books. I had to make some purchases to support the store while we‘re all doing social distancing. I did this without leaving home! They gave me recommendations and mailed the books at no charge. I asked them to let me know about authors who had their book tours disrupted. I added Girl, Woman, Other for good measure.
“I‘m going to stop by the bookstore on the way home but I‘m only buying one book or maybe two. Ok I‘m getting three.” I went for Ronan Farrow but I couldn‘t leave Elton and Adam behind.
We couldn‘t visit a new city without stopping by a bookstore! This one is fabulous—so many good middle grade & children‘s books, as well as plenty of new indies & a great translated selection. The girls each picked out a new book and my husband spoiled me with two. 😊

Louise Penny was delightful! She‘s so funny in her presentations. I‘ve seen her twice and she‘s always hilarious. I loved that she was careful not to spoil any of her books, since I‘m not quite caught up. This is a terrible picture of her taking pictures of the crowd. She told us to hold up our phones!
