I would say it was a really interesting yet exciting book. I would say what makes it book is if you read all the first six amulet books so you can understand it. The theme of the book is to get to an island and find peoples memories to find out how to destroy the elf king.

MissYaremcio Thank you for the review Cooper! I was needing a little bit more on the summary and the theme. 4/6 3y

Okay, I‘ve finished what‘s written of the series and I‘m ready for the new book on September 25th.

What a cliff-hanger! I‘ve replaced this graphic novel series more than any other at my library. They are so well loved.

JillR These are well loved in our house too 😍 6y

This year I have been really enjoying the Amulet series! Right from the first volume, I was totally hooked. The storylines are all fast-paced and interesting, the artwork is incredible, and I just love the characters! I recently received books 5-7 at once from my local library.

I'm all caught up on this series! What do I do now?

In all seriousness I understand why this is so beloved. Not only is it gorgeously drawn, but the story is smart, and expects kids to be too. It's certainly not dumbed down-- it's a lot of plot to keep track of, and I may need to reread the series every time a new book comes out!

My daughter is crying because she thought Amulet no 7 was the final volume, but it ends in a cliffhanger and she has to wait until sometime in 2018 for vol. 8. 😭At least now we have discovered there will be 9 volumes in total.

rockpools That's so sad! I don't suppose your daughter would like to recommend an all-ages comic for me for Read Harder? Peanuts is a bit of a cop-out, and I don't know where to start... 🤔Need advice from one who knows! 7y
Leniverse @RachelO "All ages" is a tall order! But you could try Phoebe and Her Unicorn. That's sort of like Calvin and Hobbes, but with a girl and a unicorn instead of tiger. There's nothing unsuitable or scary there, and it's enjoyable for kids and adults. (edited) 7y
CocoReads That's always the worst. I feel her pain! 7y
rockpools @Leniverse Thank you (both)! 🤗 7y

I love the Amulet middle grade graphic novel series, and I was happy to hear that volume seven would not be its conclusion, but it also ended up being my least favorite volume. It really felt like a lot of filler, and it lacked the whimsy that the other volumes had. We have quite a wait for volume 8, but I hope it gets the series back on track. #graphicnovel #kids #middlegrade
