But I know that here in our little house, there are things that will always stay the same.

Loved the story telling as a little girl describes her town and the fondness she has as she rides a motorcycle with her dad.
My Papi Has A Motorcycle by Isabel Quintero was a lovely story as the author remembers the rides her apá gave her on the back of his blue motorcycle. The lines and shapes used in the story along with the language the author chose to use gives the reader the sense of how fast the girl and her apá were going as they went around town.
I kept looking at all of the cool colors throughout the book, there are so many amazing illustrations.
The pictures throughout the book were super realistic and the lines and colors were super defined and sharp in all of the pictures. The book told a really great story and it‘s great for elementary school students.
We roar past murals that tell our history-of citrus groves and immigrants who worked them..”
Daisy and her Papi ride around town, looking at current locations and thinking about the past. A good story that looks at familial connections to land and to history, as well as a sprinkling of Spanish words. According to the author, the illustrations are based on her childhood experiences. I found this cited as a banned book on a blog. #BBRC #PictureBook #LetterM
This fiction book is great for RA and showing a loving relationships between father and daughters. The father is an immigrant and shows how hardworking he is and how he loves to spend time it‘s his daughter. This book won the Pura Belpre award. The UDL I chose is 2.4 promote understanding across languages because this book has text in Spanish ! #ucflae3414sp20
Loved the illustrations, the exploration of the neighborhood and culture!
Although I couldn‘t put my kid on a motorcycle, I could put this book in their hands. The father/daughter relationship, the respect for the neighborhood & the love for the people in it reflect deep connections. Plus, check out her cool helmet! The book is based on Quintero‘s childhood.

I had a baby sitter who dated a biker and they would take me out on rides, so I may be a big ol‘ hypocrite.
