Fantastic book that reminds us that most of us are the children of immigrants. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was my favorite of the refrains. The book gas the word great in all caps. ❤️

Went to the library last night to pick up one book for a student. Look what happened!!!!

A frank way to introduce pretty young readers to the concept of immigration and the racial building blocks of the US.

We sure did. Every one of us.

I love how this book begins with an acknowledgement that some of us where here before the others, and then continues talking about America in our immigrant diversity of "color, race, and religion."

With a simple story and refrain this would be a good fit for storytime. The White House could REALLY use a good storytime right now.

I'm not a fan of this book. Told in a poem & pictures Riggold highlights the diversity of the US of all the people who either called this land home or came from abroad. With the exception of Native Americans & enslaved Africans no group is identified which is confusing at best & insulting at worst

A fantastic and accessible homage to immigration and American cultural makeup by the inimitable Faith Ringgold. Granted, it's aimed at small children, but there's no sugar-coating nor whitewashing of history. My photos don't do it justice. Everyone should own a copy (gonna buy mine tonight). ⭐️🇺🇸
