I‘m not sure what kept me reading. Interesting concept, and interesting enough characters, though they could use more development. It wasn‘t terrible, but it does have a few things to improve.
The first four books are YA novels that are on my TBR. I have especially wanted to read Playlist for the Dead 🙄
This for me was very middle ground territory. Feel like I should've loved it because it's so music orientated, but I just felt zero emotional connection to these characters. They just weren't developed or exciting enough. Really wouldn't waste your time with this, there's much better YA fiction out there to sink your teeth into
Just started reading this one! I'm only a couple of pages into it, so I can't really say anyhing about it yet, but I really wanted to read this when it first came out so I hope it doesn't disappoint me. :)
For me the music choices were good, absolutely loved playing them while reading the book. It gives it more meaning and added feels. Recommending this for those who likes to read something light, but still has depth.
The premise is interesting: teenage boy commits suicide, leaving a playlist to tell his best friend what happened. I'm a sucker for a playlist, and believe them to be magic, so I bit.
The problem is that the author tries to cram too many YA tropes into one book (One-dimensional Football Playing Bullies, Cold Rich Controlling Parents, and a Manic Pixie Dream Girl) which leaves no room for real characters and prevents any real "feels."
The twists in this book were predictable, and the characters a little one note. But somehow it was still hard to put down.
Liked the idea of the "playlist" but it got disconnected halfway through the book. Loved the song choices though.
