I had to jump right into this one after finishing the first. I'll admit, I'm not entirely sure what is going on, but I am definitely enjoying the journey.

Great story and illustrations

Volume 2 is even better than the first one! Still more questions than answers so far, but sh@!‘s getting real! 5⭐️

I‘ve been on a serious graphic novel kick lately. I need to slow down on my purchases. 🤣 Here is this week‘s haul. Not pictured: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Season 9, Vol 2.

The Smiling Man is creepy as hell. This is coming together, but I still only just know what's going on.

The creepy factor is high in this one...and that‘s a good thing. (On a side note, it‘s interesting reading this alongside Lemire‘s Ascender—so different.) A man who doesn‘t remember much of his past, a priest who finds himself in the midst of a murder mystery & the mysterious Black Barn make for a fascinating & yes, creepy ride. If you are a fan of Locke & Key you will likely love this Eisner nominated comic. Lemire is a great storyteller.

Went for a walk with my husband yesterday and this happened. In fairness, it‘s not ALL for me. My husband picked up the Goodnight Punpun, Batman Li‘l Gotham we picked up for our son to read (I‘ll also read it seeing as Dustin Nguyen, artist for Descender/Ascender, drew it), Gideon Falls, Vol. 2 and Black Hammer, Vol 2 (nominated for an Eisner) both of which are by Jeff Lemire and Rat Queens because why not. Should keep all of us busy for a while.
