#3books I hated
Georgia Bottoms with the fire of 1,000 suns. Self centered, racist, has a half black son, calls her brother Brother like it's his name, has affairs with 6 married men - one for each day of the week with a day of rest - and when the last point is revealed there is no true backlash or lesson learned. This made me feel stabby.
The Jungle was required reading. No 13 year old cares about a meat factory.
Northanger Abbey - 😴🙄😴
Don't read the synopsis above. Too many spoilers. Just enjoy this sassy, sexy Southern woman who finds unique ways to make a living, enjoy life, and keep secrets. Complicating things are her racist mother with dementia, a do-nothing brother, and a variety of complicated relationships. You'll drool over her preparations for her yearly luncheons. A light read in some respects, but also social commentary prompting self-reflection and awareness.
