I love books with maps! I blame Tolkien.

The first few chapters of this book were almost too real considering the political climate right now. Hard to get through but enjoying the audiobook.
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐
This was a fun story! The continents of the world are all running in different ages of history (ex the UK is in the Middle Ages while half of the USA exists in the later 1800s) and Sophia wants to become a cartologer in order to find her parents who are lost in an unknown age. The story features magical maps, intimidating creatures and a great adventure. Looking forward to book 2.

I picked up the first book of this series solely based on the cover. I mean, just look at it! To the left is the book sleeve which is made out of very thin, see-through paper. On the right is the "naked" hardcover. It is gorgeous! It sounds reminiscent of Phillip Pullman's Dark Materials and I am very excited!

Thanks to a quick trip to the library, my #LitsyPartyofOne can continue, although it has turned into a #LitsyPartyofTwo
Lane is enjoying his board books and I'm a couple chapters in to what seems like a really fun middle grade adventure!

Aaaaaa I just found this book unbelievably boring 😣 the concept was interesting (the world fractured so different regions are in different time periods), but none of the characters were very compelling to me, and the plot was very slow to start and then when it did get going I just didn't care anyway 😅I also had some other more complicated to explain problems with it. Sorry, book!

My current #audiobook! I love the concept and worldbuilding (the world fractures so that different regions are all in different time periods), but to be honest I'm finding the book itself unbelievably boring 😢 but I'm over half way through so will stick it out.
I decided I'm going to do @bookriot #riotgrams challenge for my first challenge on here. Here is a #shelfie or rather closet 😁 I have been promised floor to ceiling bookshelves from the fiance at some point so for now my #tbr books are residing in a closet. My #read books are on an actually bookcase.
Here's last weeks Book Outlet sale splurge. #imayhaveaproblem #likeforreal
This book was such a fun one to read aloud with my partner. The world, in this book, has fragmented into different ages and you can travel between them but politicians are trying to stop the flow of people to different ages (sound familiar?). It's a great adventure story with lots of suspense and twists and turns. Can't wait to read the next one!
weekend away with my partner (and family) - means we can *finally* finish this fun book we are reading aloud! 💓
My daughter reads about important powerful women once a month... so for Halloween she chose to be Rosie the Riveter!!! Next year... Joan of arc!!! So proud of my little lady
cottage traffic read-aloud. Thanksgiving edition. When are we going to invent teleporters already? 🦃🍁
Loved this book! The world building is incredible. The thought behind the maps is insane. The entire makeup of this story is off-the-charts good. Highly recommend. (Don't mind the cover - there was an incident with shipping and a box of books for work!)
It is called the Mapmakers trilogy for good reason - many amazing maps! (Not all shown here!).

This is one of the most amazing worlds I have ever read: due to the Great Disruption, all the continents are thrown into different time periods.
READ THIS SERIES. Seriously. You will love the way it bends your brain. And maps!
Plus, you will never think of time zones the same way again😉
My youngest is finally old enough for me to read during his sport practices... ⚾️ This is a re-read so I can start the sequel... Well, maybe a re-scan. I'm not much of a re-reader because there are so many books to read and so little time!! #readingoutside #somethingforsept
I posted this book without the jacket earlier and some folks were commenting on how lovely it is, so I thought I'd show it in the jacket - which is also so lovely!
Now that my partner is back teaching we're not moving through our read aloud book very quickly. I kinda want to read ahead on my own, but I mustn't!!! #patienceproblems
This is my next read-aloud book with my partner. So far, so good!
this is a middle grade book, first in a trilogy....great characters, story. A fantasy that takes place after "the great disruption " when time shifted and different regions are different eras....so fun....and there are pirates.....even if you're a grownup, you will enjoy.....
You know when you finish a book and you're just angry about how good it was? The Glass Sentence and its sequel are like that. Incredible world building, and manages to pull off dozens of worlds within worlds and move effortlessly between them without feeling like whiplash.
The entire world has had its time shuffled about, so different sections of the world now exist simultaneously at different times in history/the future! The writing struggles a little, but such a fantastic idea. Def going to pick up the second book. 👍🏾 | ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
