The interlooping plots tie together in a beautiful way at the end, and it's a tearjerker! Definately a book meant for older and more mature people.

I was going to try to power through and finish this one but I got 240 pages in and just can‘t anymore. It just seems unrealistic, far fetched...and disappointing. On to something else.
This was my #bookspin for February. @TheAromaofBooks
The tagged is my #bookspin and A Woman of No Importance is my #doublespin for February!

Book haul 2 The Hornblower will be my first read of this stack. The 2 Russell books, The Dante Club, and the tagged book are going to be either free reads for bingo or on next month's bingo.
I wanted to like this one, and I did enjoy many aspects of it, but there were too many random twists and storylines that too neatly intertwined. I enjoyed the storyline of Jess, a female reporter trying to report as a woman in the war zone. However, in the “current day” story line of this book there was too much that was not believable about how everything came together. Enjoyable, but not my favorite ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Really looking forward to this one!! After my attempt to read a sci fi novel crashed and burned, I‘m going back to some trusty historical fiction! 📖
For fans of WWII historical fiction, this is truly a masterpiece! It was inspired by the life of American war correspondent, Lee Miller, and there are many points where it includes actual events that took place. It gave me a much deeper appreciation for the strength of the women correspondents as they fought their way through misogyny and sexual harassment that was widespread during this time. It was a magnificent story that captivated me!
