so-soSecret military base under Antarctica: check. Tough scientist-mom with kid in tow: check. Rough-and -ready ex-military Aussie cave diver: check. Red-shirt military escorts: check. Secret tunnels, monsters, lost civilizations, and a terrorist thrown in for good measure: check check check check. Lots of C-4, (because the 90s!). Check. I wanted a fun diversion, and this was both familiar and suspenseful enough for a satisfying one-time read.

Okay, if no one has any objections I think I‘ll use this one for #LMPBC #GROUPV #round6. I couldn‘t decide between this and Ice Hunt but Subterranean has fewer pages so I chose it. Both are over 400 though, and I want you to know it‘s a mass market paperback so the marking up notes may have to be mostly post-its if there are any objections I‘m happy to keep looking.

Got some bookish mail today! Subterranean is a stand-alone novel written by the same man who writes the Sigma Force books that I've been making my way through. I've read it before and it's quite good! Action-adventure suspense that takes place in very icy and arctic climates.

Well you can't get much further south than Antarctica. Loved this standalone from James Rollins, possibly my favourite of his standalones but also liked Amazonia which also fit the #setinsouthernhemisphere hash tag. If you like a good action packed thriller, give either of them a try.
I really liked this adventure book by James Rollins, possibly my favourite standalone of his so far. Most of the action takes place below the Ice of Antarctica and action certainly hots up when they discovery a mystery they might have been better leaving alone! #fireandice
