Innocent Blood | James Rollins
10 posts | 25 read | 8 to read
In The Blood Gospel, brilliant archaeologist Erin Granger embarked on a mission to recover a miraculous artifact tied to Christ. Her journey put her in the path of a diabolical enemy and introduced her to an ancient and highly secret Vatican order known simply as the Sanguines. Now, an attack outside Stanford University thrusts Erin back into the fold of the Sanguines. As the threat of Armageddon looms, she must unite with the eternal spiritual order and a terrifying power to halt the plans of a ruthless and cunning man determined to see the world end a man known only as Iscariot. In Innocent Blood, bestselling authors James Rollins and Rebecca Cantrell again take us to the edge of destruction in a riveting tale of international adventure, intrigue, suspense, and supernatural mystery. This is the second book in the series 'The Order of the Sanguines', where the priests, and their allies, must fight the forces of darkness. This time, a man claiming to be Jesus' betrayer, Judas Iscariot, is determined to open the gates of Hell, using the First Angel.
I found the history, both religious, and past, to be very fascinating, and the fantasy well written. Once again, James Rollins at his best.

This was really good. I couldn't sleep afterwards, just thinking about everything that happened here. It was so much better than the first book, and I really liked that one. My hands itched to grab a copy of the next book as soon as I finished with this, just so I wouldn't have to leave the story.

Quirkybookworm Coming of the Storm. Do you have the series? 6y
Texreader @Quirkybookworm I didn‘t know it was one of a series but I‘ve read tons and tons of their books. I haven‘t read this one yet and have had it for awhile. But having reread what it‘s about I need to move it up my tbr list. 6y
Quirkybookworm I LOVE their books! Have since the early 90s. My favorite are People of the Wolf and People of the Lakes. When I get home, I'll see my bookshelf and give you the names. The are 2 more books that are in that series. 6y

Mehso-so

Found it blasphemous and a bit redundant from the first book

My first #LitsyAtoZ book completed! #LetterI
It also fits in my Good Reads #aroundtheyearin52books challenge #20 "A book I've owned but never got around to".
I like this trilogy so far. It is fast moving and interesting in a Davinci Code way. I like the archeology / religion elements, though many Catholics may not. Jesus and Vampires?!?! I found it fun. I'll be on the third one soon. I'm a sucker for archeological adventures.

Texreader Yep!! ❤️❤️❤️ James Rollins!!! 8y

What happens when you waits YEARS to read the second book in a trilogy?
You go back and read the last 3 chapters of the first one and hope you start remembering stuff.
And cupcakes. Always cupcakes.
