As a symbol of Ireland, the popularity of #shamrock grew as early as the 19th century as it was mentioned in many songs and ballads of the time. Among them, a ballad appears in the works of Thomas Moore whose ‘Oh the Shamrock‘ “embodies the Victorian spirit of sentimentality.”
