I didn't like it. I thought it was sexist. That wolves only want the dingy, clueless, cute girls. And the cover didn't match. The sisters were both black headed. A lot of action, but I got lost in the fight. She was on all fours, so why is she now landing on his back? #FairytaleReadingChallenge @Charityann
I had the extreme pleasure to meet Jackson Pearce today at the Ozark Book Con and have her sign my copy of her book. She is one funny lady!
Well. Flat characters. Very (!) predictable storyline (as in: Knowing the story on page 5ish). Pretty much every cliché fullfilled (it even rained for the first kiss). It was written quite well, so it is 2/5 stars but I cannot recommend this AT ALL.
Spa days with @maralinchen are reading days😍 so I‘m starting a new book today😍
The kind of cover that sucks me in 😍 no idea what to expect, but definitely borrowing this from my library .
This was a unique take on Little Red Riding Hood. It really focuses on the wolves and adds a lot of fantasy elements mixed with suspense. This one was really action packed and had some fun twists and good writing. #booked2019 #fairytaleretelling
Beauty and the Pug coloring book?! Best day evvvver!!! I love my Dorbz!! Apparently it's all the rage right now (says the 11 year old who begged for it) I wanted Sister Red soooo bad but haven't heard of the other three and am SO excited!!! My little button and little unicorn and beast are the BEST! Thank you so much!!!!
Finally opened my exciting #theretellingbookswap package from @bookish_wookish and it‘s awesome! I‘ve never heard of either title, so I‘m excited to give them a read. Sisters Red is a Little Red Riding Hood retelling and Sweetly is Hansel and Gretel. And socks, a bookmark, and page tabs, all of which are some of my favorite things! Thanks for the thoughtfulness Amy! ❤️
thanks so much @Mommamanzi for your sweet package!! I'm very much looking foward to reading the books and I love colouring 😍hopefully my package will arrive soon!! #theretellingbookswap
Nothing can help you, dragon flies. Say good-bye to world you knew, Welcome to mounth of the cave. Im so sorry I failed you. I'm so, so sorry". I'm rating Sisters Red three stars. A werewolf attack leaves Scarlett's and Rosie's grandmother dead. Scarlett is also left deformed because she protected her younger sis Rosie. Scarlett the damage hero is my fav character. I think if this book just focus on Scarlett's pov it would have been a four.
One of the first dark retellings I ever read and I absolutely hooked me! I love the twist Pearce out on Red Riding Hood and how she weaves the same story threads through her series even though all books can easily stand alone. Such a great series!! ❤️
Throwing out some Jackson Pearce love with my red books! #17BookLove And a silly pic of my best friends at Halloween a few years ago.
You have to admit, Jackson Pearce's books have some pretty cool fonts. #fortheloveoffonts #readjanuary
Strange how seeing the light can make a person feel so alone in the dark.
I like libraries. It's a comfort that knowledge can be save for so long. That what we learn can be passed on.
I liked both sisters and Silas, and Pearce did a good job of creating the conflicts between them without making anyone too obviously wrong. But the near-mindless evil of the werewolves was dull, it was clear Silas was the Potential, and the story strains for believability in spots.
I really liked the story but the romance between Rosie and Silas bothered me. I don't mind large gaps in ages of romantic partners but when one of them is under the age of 18 it doesn't sit right with me. That said it was entertaining and fast paced.
I like the story but the romance line isn't sitting well with me. We'll see how this plays out or if it stops bothering me.
