There are only two categories of women in the court of Lord Farouk: those who provide their charms and those who provide their services. If you do not attend to his pleasure, you will not survive for long in this place.

Book 1 set the scene. This book picks up from there and runs with it - twists and turns galore and it sets the stage for the next book.

I think I enjoyed this one even more than the first, largely due to Ophelia seeming to come a bit more into her own. I think in the first one she is so lacking in autonomy that it stiffled her character, here she finds her voice. And I'm intrigued by how her relationship with Thorn will pan out.

Part 2 of the 4 part series delivers plenty of intrigue, a mystery and the beginnings of a romance. https://cannonballread.com/2022/09/the-missing-of-clairedelune-the-mirror-visito...

I am absolutely loving this series, and find myself quite annoyed that I don't have book 3 in my hands to start immediately!

A perfect blend of world-building and joyous imagination. Tropes come here to die. A strong group of characters, intrigues, and shifting loyalties. Even better than the first book.

The Audiobook was very well narrated and I couldn't stop listening even if the story pacing dragged at times.

BarbaraBB Enjoy! Do you have to stay at home? 5y
AnneCecilie @BarbaraBB No, this is a planned vacation. I normally stay at home to read. So it‘s nice to do something normal for once. For the last month I‘ve been working from home. (edited) 5y

BarbaraBB That is really nice! Enjoy! 5y
Linsy What's the translation of your title for book 4? Is it Goblet of Fire? 5y
AnneCecilie @Linsy Yes, it‘s. Only in Norwegian we tend to put words together and not separate them. So directly translated it say the fire goblet. 5y
Linsy @AnneCecilie I like it. Makes me think of a goblet made out of fire. 🔥
Is geret fire then?
5y
AnneCecilie @Linsy I think I explained it a little badly the last time. Ild = fire, begeret = the goblet. In Norwegian the determinative form of the substantive is mostly behind the word so the “et” at the end of begeret equals the “the” before goblet. I‘m not sure if this clarified anything? Explaining grammar is not my strong side. 5y

Need next book. This is my new favorite fantasy series. I think the next English translation comes out in May? Which is TOO LONG to wait. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I visited the bookstore today in search of the second book in The Mirror Visitor quartet, and I found it, it‘s tagged 😍 I also found a couple of other books. The Frozen book has a shiny/ sparkling cover, so how could I resist 😉 And everyone in here seem to be reading The Boy, the mole and loving it.

Buechersuechtling Yeah, also here in Germany I heard good things about “The Boy …” 😄 Curious what you post about it. Enjoy reading your haul‼️ 5y

Thank you, @Cinfhen for the tag.
Everyone‘s welcome to join!
I am now reading the first book in this fantasy series from France and I have a distinct feeling that I am going to love the characters and the world building. Can‘t wait to get to this second book in the quartet. Third book, I think, has not been translated yet and will only be out in 2020.

Cinfhen I love Europa ❤️ 5y

Book 2 of the Mirror Visitor Quartet. Book in translation from French.
I adored the first book in this series after a coworker recommended it to me. Book 2 just came out and I was so psyched to read it. It did not disappoint! As soon as I finished the last page I was screaming in outrage - I need to know what happens next! Fantasy lovers, if you haven‘t yet you definitely need to read this series. I have no words to do it justice, it‘s that good.
