An edgy retelling of Little Red Riding Hood features a big bad wolf whose intelligence is virtually nonexistent and a savvy Little Red Hood who questions the would-be predator's personal hygiene before tricking him into his demise.

#DearDecember Day 14: So this one has #RedWhiteCover. I am floored by the deceptively-simple and stark nature of this picturebook that is mischievous, sparse, and subversive. This story is clearly between the Wolf and Little Red – there are no sick grandmothers or heroic woodcutters here: just Wolf preying on Little Red from the very first page of the book. An awesome fractured retelling of a beloved tale. My review: https://wp.me/pDlzr-fiy

Lindy I‘m a huge fan of retellings and fractured fairy tales. For some reason, I‘m particularly attracted to all the variations of Little Red Riding Hood. Nice to see Innocenti‘s version on your blog post. 😊 5y

I love sassy retellings like this #picturebook in #translation from French. Just a few words on each page, expressive scribbly art, and a slam dunk of an ending. Smart girl, stupid wolf.

It‘s a very snowy day, so I‘ve been exploring the wonderful library collection at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity. (My brother is the Manager of Mechanical Services at this institute.)

Redwritinghood Sounds like a book I‘d enjoy. 😉 6y
