At Winter Fishtrap in Joseph, OR. The conference theme is Dams. Listening to Nez Perce leader Casey Mitchell talking about his tribe, water, salmon and dams. He is descended from Yellow Bull. Here for my work to remove four dams on the lower Snake River to restore salmon for tribes, orca and communities.

SamAnne And Joseph, OR is in the Wallowa Valley, Chief Joseph‘s homeland. Powerful country. And for the history buffs out there I highly recommend Thunder in the Mountains! 5y

Reggie Have you read the tagged book? It‘s amazing and sad because of the land lost to Louisiana because there are 17 dams on the Mississippi, preventing silt that would normally shore up land from reaching the delta. She also talks on how tribes knew better to build anything that wasn‘t movable near the river. This post is awesome and definitely stacked that book. 5y
