The bestselling author of "Velvet Elvis" reveals a secret deep in the heart of millions of Christians--they don't believe what they have been taught are the essential truths of their faith. Bell brings out to the open and faces squarely the questions on everyone's mind.

There are so many...so many books in my collection that are never allowed to leave my apartment. Including: Love Wins by Rob Bell, Anything by Cassandra Clare or Deborah Harkness! Do you have any priced books? #books #booklover #questions

BiblioTori Oh my goodness. I bought a hardback edition of A Little Princess last summer just to have it on my shelf. I also have a handful of signed books that remind me of the meaningful conversations I got to have when I met the authors! 7y
TheBookbabeblog84 @OnlyMeJustT I have a signed copy of a Deborah Harkness book...I just can‘t let anyone borrow it. Ever. 7y
Kimzey My autographed copy of To Kill a Mockingbird 7y
TheBookbabeblog84 @Kimzey oh I‘m jealous. Harper Lee is amazing. 7y

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
If you are in the wake of a faith shift this is a great book to meet you where you are. I grew up most of my evangelical life being told to run away from Bell‘s writings. Now that I am dealing with the traumatic fall out of Evangelicalism, his writings have been a balm. If you are experiencing guilt or shame from beliefs you used to espouse, especially concerning hell, pick this one up.

TheBookbabeblog84 His book Sex God is amazing as well. I love this book. 7y
MatchlessMarie @TheBookbabeblog84 I actually own that one but haven‘t read it! I inherited it from a friend‘s “heretic pile” lol 😈 7y
TheBookbabeblog84 @MatchlessMarie it‘s definitely worth the read; i think I have every book he‘s written. I‘m slowly reading Velvet Elvis lol 7y

MatchlessMarie @TheBookbabeblog84 Yeah I was told early on as a teen that he was a heretic and just blindly followed, but now that I have been deconstructing a lot of that stuff his words are really giving me life. I just read my first Bell last year and I loved that one too! 7y
TheBookbabeblog84 @MatchlessMarie I have What is the Bible chilling on my TBR pile. I plan on reading before Easter. Bell really breaks down things so nicely and makes God seem approachable and non stuffy. Have you listened to his PodCast? It‘s good stuff. 7y
JamieArc I went through that shift a few years ago. Some other great books to help with the shift were those by Rachel Held Evans, Brian McLaren, and Marcus Borg. 7y
josie281 He is my current favorite. 7y
MatchlessMarie @TheBookbabeblog84 I need to! I always struggle choosing between audiobooks and podcasts. My friend John also has a great one called Reclaiming Christianity. @JamieArc Yes! I can‘t wait for RHE‘s new one! @josie281 💯❤️ 7y
TheBookbabeblog84 @MatchlessMarie I‘ll have to check out Reclaiming Christianity. 7y

After the recent election, Evangelicals lost me forever, but with that I lost my faith. This book has restored a little bit of what I‘ve lost.

I drank this in. It spoke to my soul. I have believed in Christ but had big questions on how he was presented in the church. This book answered many. Embracing Christ and his love without boundaries. Without all of the religious oppression that so many associate with Christianity. The tattoo is years old but it's how I always have felt Jesus' message. It matches the book though so bonus! 😊

Do you ever read a book and want to quote the whole thing? Buy multiple copies and give to everyone? This is that book for me.... and I am only 14 minutes in. #christianleft

I'm new to Rob Bell. I come from a church upbringing, still go, now take my kids. But my beliefs, my perspectives shifted here and there over the years as I grew up, experienced a bit of life, met many people. Amongst those religious folks in my life, some adore Rob Bell and some say he went off the rails to heretic land. I can now say I like him. His words ring true to me and I find them refreshing. You may, too. ❤️
