July #bookspin pick
It‘s perfect timing for this book, a compilation of the Weetzie Bat books, as I just read Pink Smog in May which is the prequel to these books. Hopefully that will kickstart myself into gear to complete this month‘s pick.

I tried to make my way through this book, but it was just too weird. On the one hand, it made me feel as if the author was on drugs when she wrote it. On the other hand, it made me feel as if the author was in fourth grade. That's how simplistic the writing was. 🌟
“He‘s quiet for a moment doing dips and circles in the air like a firefly. ‘Actually no. But if I were to do life again I‘d probably enjoy everything a lot more.‘”
#readingwomenmonth Day 4: Fantasy! One of my favorite genres. Looking back at my GR read shelf, I'm realizing how I don't own so many of my favorites! Here's a stack that I had around the house - I've only read a couple of these, but the rest are on my TBR, obvs.

Best blurb. My 16 year old self would have gone absolutely nuts for the Weetzie Bat books. As an adult they are still an enjoyable read and they take me back to that time and place in life as a teen in L.A..
#bestcharacternames My Secret Agent Lover Man, Weetzie Bat (named my rat after her), Witch Baby, Duck, Grandma Fifi, etc. Seriously best character names ever.
Wish on everything. Pink cars are good, especially old ones. And stars of course, first stars and shooting stars. Planes will do if they are the first light in the sky and look like stars. Wish in tunnels, holding your breath and lifting your feet off the ground. Birthday candles. Baby teeth.✈️💫🚗☄
