We bought this book because our 4 year old has been bringing up Toby (our dog who passed last spring) lately. This book is about a boy and his dog as they grow up together. In the end the dog dies and it ends on a note that he may get another pet in the future when he is ready. It is a great book that opened up dialogue with our son on what happened to Toby and how there are other boys who have lost their dogs too. Also, he now wants a turtle 🙄.
pickThis TL book is so cute! It‘s about a dog and it‘s owner. The owner loves his dog, Elfie, very much. It‘s a super adorable book, it‘s very sad at the end though.

pickSweet, well-handled story about the death of a pet. I love that it follows the child and the dog as they grow together, and the love between the two is palpable. It ends on a hopeful note, as well.
