A book of meditations. A revealing spiritual self-portrait by one of the great peacmakers of our times. Maturity: Among other things, the unclouded happiness of the child at play who takes it for granted that he is at one with his playmates. Never, "for the sake of peace and quiet," deny your own experience or convictions. The only kind of dignity which is genuine is that which is not diminished by the indifference of others. Pray that your loneliness may spur you into finding something to live for, great enough to die for. Never measure the height of a mountain until you have reached the top. Then you will see how low it was.

Pickpick

I chose this book to end my 2020 reviews and it was quite appropriate for this difficult year These are UN Sec. Gen. Hammarskjold‘s diary entries from his adult life. This great man and dedicated public servant suffered and struggled to find spiritual meaning in his life. This is the kind of book you can dip into anywhere and find something thoughtful to read and perhaps inspire. https://cannonballread.com/2020/12/markings-elcicco/

This is probably my most FAVORITE thing on Litsy. If you are on the fence about trying it you definitely should!
It's so fun to see how other people respond about what they are reading and what books people choose! #LMPBC
