This series of over 10 books, starting with the tagged book, is kind of a police procedural but with magic and dragons. And a multiverse. #alphabetgame #LetterC @Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks

#TBRPile 📚 “Black circles under the eyes were not, Kaylin decided, a very attractive statement.”
Something is stalking the streets of Nightshade and it‘s linked to Kaylin‘s past so she has to go back to face it, along with her old acquaintance Severn and the dragon lord Tiamaris.

It‘s been slow to take off with a lot of history hinted at but not told. Now, around the halfway mark, it‘s taking off and some history is being filled in

Imaginary places The song lyrics are bonkers 😄
One of my favorite imaginary places is the Elantra series by Michelle Sagara. Feels like a walled city with magic, mages, dragon emperor, Barrani (similar to fae), Aerians (humanoid with wings), Tha'lanni (telepathic race), Leontine (lion race) and regular old humans (poor things).
Isn't this the truth... 😂
Starting this today, I feel like I haven't been reading as much as normal lately. Rainy days are made for books 🧡
This is fun so far. It feels like the world is big and I am getting just enough character backstory to wonder but not so little I'm annoyed.
This book was okay. For being the first in the series, it felt like it was missing a lot of world building and background information. I understand that we had the same information as the main character, Kaylin, but at some points it was frustrating. I probably won't continue on with this series.
This book was perfect for vacation: 1st in a long series with a punky human heroine finding her place as an emerging power in a world where humans are usually fragile and powerless. Kept me up at night, which is saying something as during the day, I was fulfilling a lifelong dream of visiting some Maya cities. Now I need a vacation from my vacation, so I'll look forward to the sequels! #fantasy #vacationread
Planning on starting this series in January with @mamaboadicea We are planning one a month for the year. I'm so excited. Anyone read it? Thoughts?
