#12BooksOf2021 My 12 favorite books of 2021, in no particular order. #10
One of the best books I've read this year! I loved this book!
I love this spat of young readers editions, where the publishers take popular adult non-fiction, and rework it for kids.

Interesting historical story and very accessible. I did listen to this as an audiobook and felt like it would be more entertaining and easier to follow if I just read the book. The narrator was good but it‘s just easier for me to follow when there are names and dates I need to remember
His first foray into nonfiction. I‘m not sure about these theories. Will do some research on his references.
I love history and the Revolution, so this book was right up my alley. A quick read due to the authors‘ thriller style, and it would have been even faster if they didn‘t repeat so often.
This is well written, and it shows how narrow our margin of victory was. Still, this is history as we‘ve all been taught it. Over. And over. And over. If you did well in 4th grade, spend your time elsewhere.
As a history buff, some of the things mentioned in this book I had read about before but this goes more in-depth into the conspiracy and participants. One thing that caught my attention was all the places/things named after Tryon. Including Tryon, NC, which is about an hour from where I live. Very good book.
#Audiobiking on this early spring day! No green yet, but at least the snow is finally gone and it's a glorious 55°. Scott Brick kept me company on the trail. 🎧🚴♀️🐴
Did this as an audio. I wasn‘t thrilled about the reader but he wasn‘t bad either. Some parts I zoned out on but I did learn a lot from it. Did this for the #ATY2019 challenge - prompt #51 A book published in 2019.

story of leaders, liars, counterfeiters, and jailhouse confessors. 1776 and some of Washington's bodyguards are part of a treasonous plot along with Gov. of NY William Tryon and Mayor David Mathews. very interesting, entertaining, historical. plot shows we were close to losing Revolutionary War. look at what was going on at the time of our nation's birth. The plot also led to our modern day CIA. recommend this book to those who love history.
Currently waiting for book signing with Brad Meltzer. He's funny and full of inspiring stories. I didn't know that he also writes children's books, the "I am" series about heroes of history. There are some very small fans in this audience. ? I'll have to pick some up for my little cousins. Anyway, I'm really looking forward to reading this one, it looks like a page-turner!
This was an astonishing account of an event that I was only tangentially aware of. So good.
Great book for history lovers 💕 since it‘s a spy thriller that actually happened in America #BradMeltzer #nonfiction https://alternative-read.com/2019/01/08/the-first-conspiracy-by-brad-meltzer/
I received this as an ARC for my honest opinion. After being sick from food poisoning and then a wasp sting, I finally felt better to read. This is Brad Meltzer's first time at Non-fiction. It's an interesting book. There is a conspiracy to kill George Washington. During this time he sets in motion the origin of counterintelligence that becomes what we now know as the CIA.
So, I think I got food poison, yesterday at book club.Been up all night. Heading to clinic with mom-in-law. Don't know when I will get through with book or be back on.😷
Received my book I won on Goodreads, today. Going to start it after I finish Closer Than Blood. Like a little over 100 pages. Been busy and haven't had time to read,😀
Love Brad Meltzers books in our house my husband grabbed it as soon as it came out of the envelope 😂😂 Thanks @flatironbooks for this lovely surprise.
