This book was even more beautiful than the first! I love Rebecca Ross‘ immersive writing style. I highly recommend reading this duology.

I‘m loving my Rebecca Ross kick. This sequel had lots more action and still wrapped up everyone‘s storyline nicely. It picks up right after the first book where everyone is trying to rebuild while still trying to get a Queen on the throne. I just get so emotionally invested in all of her characters. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Perfect! This picked up right where the first one ended. A little bit of magic, battles, justice and romance. This book alternated between two perspectives, which added a bit more than the first book. I think this series will only be the two books and I think that‘s just fine! Goal two complete for #awesomeaugust! # seriesread
Let's take a time out to appreciate this #beautifulbookcover
Simple...yet so elegant 😍
I am posting one book per day from my to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new - don‘t judge me I have a lot of books.
Join the fun if you want. This is day 80.

I finished this sequel at 2 am. And had to share this adorable #petsoflitsy picture I snapped this morning. I genuinely loved this sequel- fast paced, character driven, fantasy with a great feminist slant, all the pluses far outweighed the small plot holes. It reminds me a little of Megan Whalen Turner in tone. There is significant violence #tw
"If you were a storm, I would lie down and rest in your rain. If you were a river, I would drink from your currents. If you were a poem, I would never cease to read you. I adore the girl you once were, and I love the woman you have become."
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Highly entertaining YA fantasy - I fell hard for Brienna, Cartier, Isolde, and the rest. Really good as an audiobook - the narrators had me choked up at the end, even though I definitely knew what was coming. Very satisfying duology.
Currently listening to this one after a long anticipation of publication! I terribly missed Brienna and Cartier. I won‘t add any spoilers but a review is to come! If you haven‘t already, add this series to your tbr! #ya #fantasy #queen #magic #passions #art #music #knowledge #dramatics #wit✨📚💕🎧🏰
Despite finding myself in a week long reading slump, I managed to read these 24 books this month. My favorites were The Queen‘s Rising Series, Inseparable, Tangerine and How I Live Now. Have you read any of these?

Super let down. I absolutely adored the first book and this just didn‘t do it for me. I was on board with the romance in THE QUEEN‘S RISING but it felt contrived and off in the sequel. Wrapped up too neatly with a bow for my taste as well. 2.5 / 5
