pickVol. 2 focuses on Tommy before his death & although the Pike family is happier than in the first volume, stress & uncertainty is beginning to show. Although smaller than the first vol., there's a sense of gloominess & loneliness in this volume & several of the characters feeling trapped by their circumstances.
pickI am doing the same review for all three volumes. Highly recommend. If you like stories about families in dying/dead towns (e.g. Empire Falls) you will enjoy this. The added ghost elements make it even better. The art is excellent but may not be everyone‘s cup of tea.
I wasn't sure what to expect with these, but they ended up being pretty good!
