This started strong, and the writing is done well. The overall plot, however, becomes less believable as it goes on. I think focusing on the main character‘s past would have made the events in this book feel more realistic. Instead, it just felt like the author wanted to throw in enough surprises that the reader can't guess the ending, if it that causes the plot to come off as a bit ridiculous.
Something incredibly gripping about this book I just couldn't stop reading the pages and nearly read it all in one sitting! Emily is a character I think most women can relate to from one point in their lives. Nice little twist at the end. Overall good read
I've just finished this book and loved it! I downloaded it as my 'Christmas holiday read' and I couldn't put it down, my next pick has a hard act to follow.
Very well written, gripping and keeps you guessing right until the last page. Well worth getting lost in this one.
Today was #bookmail day!! Jasmine here is inspecting my #bookstack of new books... I'm not sure she's impressed. 😂

I liked it. I didn‘t like any of the characters, and having been married once to an abusive man I found parts of it sad and angering. But it was a quick read that kept me wanting to know what happens, and the end was satisfying.
Just finished reading this book and the last 100 pages had me totally gripped. So many twists and turns. It had me guessing until the very end. Just when I thought I had figured it out there was another unexpected revalation.

This book took off pretty fast and was intense till the end. It made me think about the things people will do when they want things they may not be meant to have...and the truth behind those frilly, fancy lives people portray through social media. #ClaireAllan #HerNameWasRose
Shout out to say this is my second favourite book I‘ve read this year. 🤔 I think at the end of the year I will post my top 5 but this is definitely up their. Well worth a read. Bloody excellent. Love getting lost in a book and this was definitely one of those after page one!!!
A thought provoking look into the lies we share with the world. Life is sometimes not the way we promote it to others. Obsessive love with its tangled, thorny roots can damage and ruin the best of us.
I think I know where this is going...uh-oh!
I love this description of eating cake. It‘s like the author has looked into my soul 🤣🍰
Claire Allan‘s psychological thriller was addictive, complex and full of all the twists and turns of a great book that you won‘t want to put down.
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book. This did not effect my review of this book. #netgalley #hernamewasrose #claireallan full review at thejwordpress.wordpress.com
I'm about halfway through. It took a few chapters for it to find its footing, but I'm really into this story now. I have an idea of where this is going, and if I'm right, it will be a great twist.
IG decided for me: my next #arc from #netgalley will be this one. So excited to read a new author!
