The Time of My Life
The Time of My Life: A Novel | Cecelia Ahern
12 posts | 44 read | 19 to read
Lucy Silchester keeps receiving this strange appointment card and sweeping its gold embossed envelope under the rug. Literally. She busies herself with a job she doesn't like, helping out friends, fixing her car, feeding her cat, and devoting her time to her familys dramas. But Lucy is about to find out that this is one appointment she cant miss, when Life shows up at her door, in the form of a sloppy but determined man. Life follows her everywhere from the office, to the bar, and to her bedroom and Lucy learns that some of the choices she has made and the stories she has told arent what they seem. Now her half-truths are about to be revealed, unless Lucy tells the truth about what really matters to her. The Time of My Life is another warm, thought-provoking novel from Cecelia Ahern, internationally bestselling author of P.S. I Love You.

Lucy‘s has been going nowhere for nearly 3 years until she receives a summons to meet with her ‘Life‘. ...This is just the ticket for a new year-type of read. The first-person writing made the double entendre of ‘My Life‘ so often referenced comical and a bit thought provoking. Imagine if ‘My Life‘ was an actual person with whom you had to debate.

‘It‘s time for a wake up call.‘

After two months of not being able to read with exam marking commitments I am so glad to pick up a book.

I love Cecelia Ahern and I‘m hoping I won‘t be disappointed!

Bailedbailed

I couldn‘t get into it. I didn‘t care for the main character or her friends and family. The concept was cheesy and it just didn‘t connect with me. Hopefully Lucy figures it all out, but I bailed so I‘ll never know...

My favourite Author. I love how this novel provokes the thought of our lives as another being, a being whom we were hurting and shows how we would take greater care of it, if indeed it were.

Today, I decided to tell everyone about the book. None had actually asked.

So it went like, there's this girl, she takes smoke-breaks but she dosn't smoke, nd Life came to her nd sort of helped her out wth her life, which was mesy nd oh yea she got dumped 3 yrs before Life came into her life.

That's when I realised,

I didn't make sense.
The book made more sense on paper.
And
If my Life walked into my life, he'd clearly be very disappointed.😜

A friend recommended this to me so I thought I'd check it out. This is not my typical genre but I thought it was an ok book. My main problem was with the main character basing her entire life and happiness around a man. I might recommend this to someone who wants a light and fast read.

Cecelia Ahern is always so much fun. Sometimes it's in a really depressive way...I get that, man...
