Q. 9: First line of current read
@Clwojick @LadyKatrina
Finished all the heartland books the other day. Now starting this one the other day for my online book club.
Flying through my books this year and have had to edit my goal of how many books i want to read this year which is fab. This is book 40 this year so far and its the most books ive read in a while so feels good to be back in my reading stride at last!
After her brother is killed in a school shooting, Caitlyn and her community struggle to heal. This is a sweet middle-grade novel, but the message was a little too overtly presented for my taste, like an After School Special or a Lifetime Original Movie.
Finished my April #bookspin in record time (for me)!

This is a great read about a girl named Caitlin. She is a young girl with Asperger‘s syndrome and she is trying to cope with a tragedy that just happened in her family.

3🌟 from me. A good short read about a girl who has Asperger syndrome and recently lost her brother in a school shooting. 1st POV from the girl so it was a really interesting read. 📚💕
After a horrible school shooting claims the life of her beloved older brother, Caitlin and her widowed father must learn how to find closure. This doesn't come easy for a young girl with Asperger's, who also struggles to understand other's feelings. I'd highly recommend this for students who have autistic family members.
1. Reading the tagged and Sense and Sensibility.
2. Our holiday weekend in 🇨🇦 was last weekend. I went for dinner with my girlfriends from high school. (I graduated in 1990.)
3. Steak, portobello mushrooms, corn on the cob.

This Realistic Fiction novel, tells a story about a girl named Caitlin who struggles with the death or her brother in addition to have Asperger's. She is on the search for closure. Have read this for my other LAE course needed for our program..it took me awhile to really get into the book, I'm glad I kept pushing through. This is truly a great book. #UCFWaltersLit
Caitlin (nicknamed ‘Scout‘ by her older brother) has a lot going on in her life: the final years of primary school, no real friends, a single parent home, the recent (sudden and violent) death of her brother to whom she was close and, to top it all, Aspergers. If that seems like a lot... well it‘s because it is. The book was an engaging enough read, but I think that my trying to do everything is did itself a disservice.
This RF book is based off the shooting at Virginia Tech with changes to fit this characters life. The main character has Aspergers and is trying to find closure after her brother has been shot. This book will make you cry and smile at the end and help you have a better understanding of students with disabilities. This would be for 5-8th grade. #ucflae3414su17 https://youtu.be/lxp1LuTdpA4

read this for my neurodiversity square in the #diversitydecbingo. the protagonist is caitlin, a 10 year old with asperger's.
as this moment illustrates, it is just too damn...neat. a nice attempt by erskine but I don't think I would recommend.

My sister recommended this to me though I've not read it yet. I believe the main character has Asperger's and as a teacher with students who have been diagnosed with it, this interests me greatly. Though I'm not sure I'd say it's a disability - just maybe a different ability. #disabilities #photoadaynov16 @RealLifeReading
Original post on 9/28/16: No idea how this book landed in my hands, but I finished after being glued to my phone and TV all day waiting for news after a school shooting in my district. Told by Caitlyn, a child with Asperger's syndrome, it talks of her search for a literal Closure after her brother is killed in a school shooting. With allusions to TKAMB, the theme of walking in others' shoes resonates. Love. #townvillestrong
Rating: 5/5.
This is a really good book and is definitely one of my faves. Not only did it seem relatable because of my job as a teacher for children with special needs, but also because, it sheds light into Asperger's Syndrome, grief & shooting in school.
