3 posts | 5 read | 1 reading | 9 to read
In December of 1282, English soldiers ambushed and murdered Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, the Prince of Wales. His death marked the end of Wales as an independent nation and the beginning of over seven hundred years under the English boot. Footsteps in Time is the story of what might have happened had Llywelyn lived. And what happens to the two teenagers who save him.

"Footsteps in Time" by Sarah Woodbury is the second book in the "After Cilmeri" series, set in medieval Wales. It follows the story of what might have happened had Llywelyn ap Gruffydd, the Prince of Wales, survived the ambush in December 1282. In this alternate timeline, two time-traveling teenagers, ⬇️

suvata Anna and David, save Llywelyn, and the book explores the consequences of their actions on the course of Welsh history. The series is a blend of fantasy, historical fiction, and time travel elements, with a focus on the relationships and political dynamics of medieval Wales and the modern world. 2w

This is a medieval time travel series that actually starts with Daughter of Time. It imagines a Wales if Llywelyn ap Gruffydd was not murdered on December 11 1282. I think Woodbury does a good job of describing time and place and I love reading about this time period. More palette cleanser than deep read for me. 3.5 🌟

GingerAntics @Chrissyreadit that seems to be a lovely feature of all her books - they‘re not any longer than they need to be and they whiz right by. This is the one series of Woodbury‘s we haven‘t read yet. 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage Oooh. I read a couple of her books and liked them. Maybe I‘ll give these a go! 4y
GingerAntics @BarbaraTheBibliophage, @texreader and I are going to read them together, maybe you can join us! 4y
Texreader @GingerAntics @BarbaraTheBibliophage Yes! We had a lot of fun reading her Gareth and Gwen series together!! 4y
GingerAntics @Texreader @BarbaraTheBibliophage We started the Lion of Wales and Last Pendragon series together, but I want through them so fast, I may have lost you along the way. 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @texreader @gingerantics I will look into what I have and see ... I am such a moody reader right now, I hate to commit to buddy reads. 💝 💝 (edited) 4y
GingerAntics @BarbaraTheBibliophage that‘s understandable 4y
Texreader @BarbaraTheBibliophage @GingerAntics So true. I think we are aiming for some time this summer. 4y
BarbaraTheBibliophage @texreader @gingerantics Summer could end up a lot better for me. Hard to tell. My job / business is the exact opposite of social distancing, so it may be a little longer before I can safely go back. But if I can get some loans and other help in place, things will relax emotionally. I hope ... 4y
GingerAntics @BarbaraTheBibliophage yeah, this is a really tense time, especially if your profession is being around people. I totally get that. 4y
