NEW YORK TIMES BESTSELLER - Filled with heartbreak and betrayal, triumph and fulfillment, The Right Time is an intimate, richly rewarding novel about pursuing one's passion and succeeding beyond one's wildest dreams. Abandoned by her mother at age seven, Alexandra Winslow takes solace in the mysteries she reads with her devoted father--and soon she is writing them herself, slowly graduating to dark, complex crime stories that reflect skill, imagination, and talent far beyond her years. After her father's untimely death, at fourteen Alex is taken in by the nuns of a local convent, where she finds twenty-six mothers to take the place of the one she lost, and the time and encouragement to pursue her gift. Alex writes in every spare moment, gripped by the plots and themes and characters that fill her mind. Midway through college, she has finished a novel--and manages to find a seasoned agent, then a publisher. But as she climbs the ladder of publishing success, she resolutely adheres to her father's admonition: Men read crime thrillers by men only--and so Alexandra Winslow publishes under the pseudonym Alexander Green, her true identity known only to those closest to her, creating a double life that isolates her. Her secret life as the mysterious and brilliantly successful Alexander Green--and her own life as a talented young woman--expose her to the envious, the arrogant, and Hollywood players who have no idea who she really is. Always, the right time to open up seems just out of reach, and would cost her dearly. Once her double life and fame are established, the price of the truth is always too high.

This was a really fast reading great book. If you are a Danielle Steele reader, I highly recommend this one. So good I couldn't put it down, didn't want it to end either.
The main character losses her mother and father at early age and being an avid Mystery reader, decides at 19 to try her hand at writing her own. Don't want to give the story away, it kept me up very late, had find out how it ended. Sad it's over, loved it while I read it.

EadieB I haven‘t read a Danielle Steel book in a long time. Glad you enjoyed it. (edited) 3y
MariSands It has been awhile for me too but this is the one I found at Rices and it looked interesting and I really had a hard time putting it down. Now I'm going to read Lilac Girls. 3y

The Right Time by Danielle Steel is definitely my favourite. I love how Alex settle with her life despite what she has been through since she was young. It taught me that things will work out if we are devoted to it and put our soul into something we love doing. And that everything will eventually fall into place at the right time. Well, this book polah aku nangis diawal chapter and part suku dah mok habis. I iz zad. 🥺 It‘s worth reading. ✨

Envy is a very ugly thing and very dangerous. You have to protect yourself from it everyday.

Mehso-so

Danielle Steel knows how to play with relationships and emotions. The story started off brilliantly but gradually started to lose its touch. Seemed repetitive in a few areas.
Over all it was a fine read, nothing out of the world, not deeply articulated.

I got to chapter 10 and realized this is not one of Steele‘s better works. So I DNF. I prefer Steele‘s suspense novels like Betrayal.

I love Danielle Steel books. My heart broke during each tradedgy yet Alex still turned out on top. I didn't want to put down the book down and I was constantly rooting for her like "you go girl!"

There are no words for how much I love this. This is the back cover of Danielle Steel‘s new book. Her author photo is her, standing in front of a life-size portrait of herself. That is so epically amazing that I have to admire her. 😂

Krisjericho I‘m going to start calling her Gilderoy Lockhart. 7y

Possibly one of her best books yet, I couldn't put it down! Alex's mother abandons her at 7 but she has a wonderful life with her father reading Mysteries and crime Thrillers. When her father dies when she is 14 she is sent to live with nuns in a Convent. She hones her own writing skills at the convent and into college when at the young age of 19, her first book is set to be published with w/ several more to soon follow. But, all is not perfect...

#TBRtemptation post 4! Soon to be released. Abandoned by her mom at 7, Alexandra takes solace in reading mysteries with her father. Eventually, she writes them. When at 14 her father dies, she's taken in by the local convent and gains 26 mom's. She hones her writing skills and takes up a pseudonym, Alexander. Her double-life exposes her to Hollywood, envy, and arrogance. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
