Helmet of Horror: The Myth of Theseus and the Minotaur (American)
Helmet of Horror: The Myth of Theseus and the Minotaur (American) | Viktor Pelevin
3 posts | 3 read | 13 to read
Victor Pelevin has created a mesmerising world where the surreal and the hyperreal collide. 'The Helmet of Horror' is structured according to the internet exchanges of the 21st century, yet instilled with the figures and narratives of classical mythology.

I am posting one book per day from my extensive to-be-read collection. No description and providing no reason for wanting to read it, I just do. Some will be old, some will be new. Don‘t judge me - I have a lot of books. Join the fun if you want.
This is day 32 #bookstoread #tbrpile

Karkar For some reason this cover freaks me out. 5y

#MarchIntoReading Day 9 - Alliterative Titles

Part of the Canongate Myth Series, this book is an inspired reimagining of the ancient story of Theseus and the Minotaur, set in an internet chat room.

Hidie I love the idea of the myth series. I've collected a few books from this series over the years, but I've only read a couple of the novels, I think just the one by Margaret Atwood, and the one by Su Tong. 8y
BooksForYears @Hidie My favorite (so far) is Ali Smith's GIRL MEETS BOY. It's a retelling of the Iphis myth, but even if you had no knowledge of the myth, it reads as a great standalone story. 8y
Hidie Oh, sounds interesting! I'll keep an eye out for it, thanks! 8y
