pickHome for Xmas at my family farm in the central west of Oz that is badly effected by drought. This book is very fitting. Dirt Music started off with a bang but is slowing down & I‘m really not sure where it‘s going but loving it just the same. Tim mostly writes about men. Not as much this time.
P.S. please spare a thought for the struggling farmers this xmas. If we don‘t look after them & our precious environment, our food will eventually run out.

I have only listened to two novels on audio - these two. We road tripped when our boys were young, from Brisbane to Cairns (which is a loong way), and we loved hearing the full cast version of #northernlights. I bought Dirt Music when I travelled 45 minutes each day to and from work for several years, but I mustn't have fallen in love 😍 with the experience because I never got another one.
I've been bingeing on podcasts the last two weeks and this morning I listened to @ReadingEnvy with guest @shawnmooney - great episode guys. I'm always thrilled to hear Australian books on non-Australian podcasts and this one featured a Tim Winton (not this one though). They loved it, most people do love Winton. I do not, I find his fiction overly colloquial, like he's trying to prove just how Australian he is, and under edited. So Winton, 👍or 👎?
My favorite place on a Saturday - Recycled Reads Austin TX. Hardcovers $2, Paperbacks $1 and it benefits the public library!
