I woke up early this morning, thinking I would have most of the day to sit and read. I was just sitting down when a cork flew out of one of the bottles in our wine rack (who knew that could happen??), flooding the kitchen. 🤦‍♀️🍷 I just spent the last two hours cleaning wine off of everything and mopping floors. My house smells like wine and Pine-Sol, and the cats are mad because they can't get in the kitchen until it dries. Break time for me.

cariashley Wtf?! Was it an old bottle?? I have a LOT of wine in my apartment and have my fingers crossed that never happens here! 🙅🏼‍♀️ 6y
goodbyefrancie @cariashley It was actually a new bottle! We have cases of wine, and have never seen this happen. It was a HUGE mess. 6y
starlight97 Oh god all that wine going to waste *faints* 6y

Velvetfur I have NEVER heard of this happening! Now I'm scared of wine! 😂 I hope the wine smell evaporates soon x 6y
Leftcoastzen That is really something, sorry, weird. 6y
cherinium Horrifying! 6y
Swe_Eva Unless you put the bottle through some severe temperature changes, it was probably a faulty cork. Once in a lifetime thing, I would say. 6y
goodbyefrancie @starlight97 Right? A whole bottle all over my kitchen. 😯 6y
scowler1 Stick with whiskey and it'll never happen again. 6y
goodbyefrancie @Swe_Eva That's what we think. The cork is huge, so we think something must have been faulty. The cork flew across the kitchen and hit my dishwasher. 😲 6y
goodbyefrancie @scowler1 I told my husband that this morning! Lol 6y
Daisey I‘m cautious about this kind of thing and have had it happen with homemade wine because of bottling before fermentation is fully complete combined with temperature changes, but I‘ve never worried about it with purchased wine. I can definitely commiserate about the mess it makes! 6y
scowler1 @goodbyefrancie Great minds think alike eh? 6y
Swe_Eva @goodbyefrancie Wow, that‘s some pop! Sorry about the wine... And the cleaning up, of course. 6y

Apparently, there‘s a term called “boobatoir,” meaning a place to binge watch shows and relax. Littens prefer a “bookatoir,” right?

If you could have the perfect bookatoir, what would it look like? Show us a picture! And tag me, please.
