Scooby Apocalypse Vol. 3
Scooby Apocalypse Vol. 3 | Keith Giffen
9 posts | 11 read | 1 to read
You've never seen the Mystery Inc. gang like this before, as Fred, Velma, Daphne, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo seek answers to the mystery plague that turned the world into a monster-strewn wasteland! But now something strange has happened to the marauding monsters--they're suddenly all single-mindedly heading in one direction, almost like they're under a spell! If someone has figured out a way to control the monsters, then finding out how could be the first step to figuring out how to save the world. So Velma, Scooby and the gang are heading off in the direction of thousands of monsters...much to Shaggy's chagrin. But Scoob isn't the only one tracking the parade of monsters. Scrappy-Doo and his vicious pack of Smart-Dogs are hot on the trail, too, and he's determined to follow it straight to Velma. Can the world's smartest woman survive an encounter with the world's most dangerous dog? Or will the apocalypse finally claim the Mystery Inc. gang? Writers Keith Giffen and J.M. DeMatteis (JUSTICE LEAGUE INTERNATIONAL, BLUE BEETLE) and artist Dale Eaglesham (SECRET SIX) reimagine everyone's favorite meddling kids in a world gone monster! Collects issues #13-18.

Not the best book in the bunch so far, but needed to move the story forward. In this one we discover that all the monsters can come together and make one big monster. Plus, aliens enter the picture but there is no real explanation. And we get a little deeper into Scrappy. Plus we get some new characters, mainly a squirrel killing machine that thinks he‘s James Bond. We shall see how the story progresses in Vol 4.

The gory fun continues, and the additions of new characters adds a bit more chemistry to this reimagined Scooby story.

I have another #Hoopla account and saw this continuation of this series. Starting to read it tonight. I love using Hoopla.

Not as strong as the first two volumes, and it wasn‘t helped by the Secret Squirrel comics crammed between chapters

I'm still interested in where the story is going, but I'm less convinced of the necessity of the random squirrel spy chapters. I can't figure out if they're flashbacks or a completely separate story tacked onto the end of each issue.

Amie I didn't know what to make of the squirrel spy chapters. 7y

This series is getting a little too bizarre, but I'll keep reading it to find out what happens.
