Loved it so much I bought original art directly fro the artist. I own a page from the first issue.

First proper experience reading Black Bolt solo and Saladin Ahmed. Cristian Ward's artwork really makes the graphic novel and works with Ahmed's writing to humanize and give voice to the normally silent Inhuman king.
The incredible @TricksyTails sent me this awesome Black Bolt graphic novel! I loves me some Inhumans, and can't wait to read it! You rock!! Thank you so fricken much!!! 😃
I am trying to meet the stipulations set for reading this.😁
This art, tho...😍
Side note: Is anyone else going to #Wiscon this year? Saladin Ahmed is a guest of honor!
Listen, I know you're all, "Ugh, Inhumans, whatever," but I need you to move past that and read BLACK BOLT because Saladin Ahmed and Christian Ward have produced something SPECIAL. This comic is deeply concerned with issues surrounding prisons, villainy, justice, and our responsibility to others. And it examines all this with one hell of a script and 150 pages of mindblowing art.
Also, I'm never gonna be over Ahmed & Ward's take on Crusher Creel.
Me: okay, I bought the latest SKIP BEAT! and I'm gonna buy my monthly random book in a week or so, and that's probably it for me in March.
comiXology: today only, we've got craploads of Marvel trades on for $0.99 USD each.
Me: aw, hell. *buys nine*

Black bolt hard time again. The art feels very Kirby etc to me. Fantastic 😁
Remarkably illustrated, this is a thoughtful adventure in cosmic storytelling. Saladin Ahmed‘s story has a lot of things to say about criminality, prison, and justice, and he packs a lot of it into a brisk action story. I do wish it had a few more issues to breathe, as this story is fairly relentlessly paced, but there really is a lot to like here. A strong debut on one of Marvel‘s few genuinely ambitious books.
Picked up the first two issues of the Black Bolt miniseries at the comic book store yesterday. I've always loved the king of the Inhumans and this makes it sound like they'll be tackling some important questions.
Marvel Studios has a nearly perfect cinematic track record (nearly... I'm looking at you Iron Fist) but I just can't imagine a way that the medium-budget show coming this fall can do the Inhumans justice.
More from free comic book day haul! When I heard Saladin Ahmed was writing the new Black Bolt series I knew I'd be picking it up. Lovely. (Really good color pallet in this first issue).
