#MOvember These books were quite scandalous back in the day!! #LuckyStar Lucky Santangelo
From the Jackie Collins website:
“She‘s a hot-blooded beauty in love with power, hungry for pleasure… wild, notorious, trouble… She‘s… Lucky. The fabulous heroine of Chances returns.”
I should reread this series!!!
For background—I was a pretty sheltered child. 13 yo me decides to buy my mom a book for Christmas. She enjoys Stephen King or Danielle Steel/Jackie Collins-type authors. I buy her a mass market paperback of Lucky. As I‘m wrapping it, I thumb through it. A few passages catch my eye, and I am immediately 😳🙈🙈🙈. I could not give that to my mother, so I discreetly threw the book out with my garbage and got her another gift. #rip2myyouth #aprella
Throwback to 1987, 7th grade, reading trashy romance novels in the back of Mrs. Phillips Language Arts/Social Studies class. Good times. Good times. 🤓
#RockInMay Day 22 My favorite #PaperbackWriter has to be the bedazzled & fabulous Jackie Collins (RIP) If Madonna was my go to musical idol of the 80's than Jackie Collins was my literary heroine of that era! I gobbled up those paperbacks soooo quick! And the fact that she was the sister of Alexis Carrington (ok,Joan) made her even more worthy!!!
Is this a sign of good luck today? Should I buy a lottery ticket? I can buy more books!!!!!!! Side Note: I love Jackie Collins' novels. I started reading her stuff in 7th grade!!!
#octphotochallenge #day7 #girlcrush When I was a teenager, I loved Jackie Collins books, (RIP lovely Jackie 💗) and especially this series... Lucky Santangelo was and still is my total #girlcrush.... a sexy, jet setting, kick-ass lady boss! Could be time for a re-read...it's been 25 years!
