Well, I'm done with the series. This installment feels very much like a wrap-up. Without a strong narrative arc, it reads to me less like a story than like a list of things the characters did. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sad the series is done.

Just now realizing I forgot to share this haul with you guys last week 😅 This was the second part of my Book Outlet haul.
Radu wondered if Kumal was capable of cruelty. He hoped so, actually. It gave him hope to think that men like Kumal were the same as everyone else—they simply chose to be better.
4.5/5⭐ I take back every doubt I had in the 1st 2 books, because White brought everything together BRILLIANTLY. This book was so action-packed & thematically sound that it made the previous books make complete sense. There was a point to the plotlines/motivations I struggled with previously, & significant, far-reaching points at that. The ending felt SO satisfying with Radu's family dynamics. Really such a strong ending to a series on all counts.
A great ending to the series. This is a fantastic book, based on the Ottoman Empire and one woman‘s fight to right the wrongs done to her and her country. Lada is based on Vlad (the Impaler) and will stop at nothing despite the emotional and literal destruction it causes. Great historical fiction!
Book 3 in the “And I Darken” Trilogy. Lada rules Wallachia and the people love her. She won‘t play by the rules, paying taxes and giving conscripted slaves to the Ottoman Empire. Instead, she does so many brutal things that war with the Ottomans led by Mehmed (who is in love with her) is inevitable. It‘s an epic conclusion to this story.
A gender bent retelling of Vlad the Impaler, which inspired the myth of Dracula, this series far exceeded my expecations. Lots of action, a sprinkle of romance, great character development. Lada the Impaler was an unlikeable, but captivating protangonist. The conclusion of this trilogy wrapped up everything neatly, but not too neatly, leaving me satisfied.
I really loved this trilogy. The last book had enough of a wrap up to be satisfying, but not too neatly to be annoying. Such a cool historical fiction.
It's not often that we get a female MC in a YA trilogy who is not exactly likable but somehow also makes you root for her as she does some truly horrible things. This is the final book in The Conquerer's Saga; a tale rich in story, character, and world-building. A female twist on the Vlad Dracula myth, this trilogy had become one of my favorites in recent years and I was happy to see Lada receive a befitting end to her story. Read these today!
Yes! I really enjoyed the conclusion to this trilogy, and would recommend the second and third book over the first one.
I‘ve been super down lately and haven‘t been reading. I finally got around to the library and am easing back in with this.
So excited to see how this series ends!
“Disrupt stability. Petition for gold. Provoke the greatest empire on the face of the earth.” He paused. “This is going to be fun.”
Why yes I think it is 😏
I‘ve really enjoyed this trilogy about a young, female Vlad the Impaler and was SO curious to see how the final book brought it all together. The elements that I loved from the other books are all here — the lush descriptions, the epic feel of the world, and the dynamic Lada, who fights for EVERYTHING. Final books are so tricky and I appreciated the closure for the characters. Such a great series and it‘s so bittersweet to come to the end.
Brutal, but satisfying ending to this trilogy. I just love the complex relationship between the three main characters.
#BookMail Pt1 & I‘m finally getting some of my “preorders” Would‘ve been better off giving my daughter the money to pick them up from the Dymocks near her work! Being able to shop on the internet has changed my life, but immediate gratification it is not. Especially when you‘re waiting on things for swaps. This is the 3rd book in the Conquerors series about Lada, her brother Radu & Mehmed the Ottoman Emperor.
I just whined my way into getting my boss to let me read this before it‘s even catalogued because I WAAAAANTED IT. (I‘ll be bereft when I‘m finished, I know, but!!!) #brightweburn #theconquerorssaga #kierstenwhite
"So I hope she never marries. I hope she lives to be a hundred years old, breathing fire and drinking the blood of our enemies."
Lada inspiring younger generations of girls. She is such a badass character.
Excellent finish!! This series is EVERYTHING! I was hesitant to read it bc I don‘t generally care for speculative historical fiction but this was extremely well done. It is categorized as YA but I think it easily appeals to adults as well. Lada could give Danerys a run for her money any day!!
This series is so good! This last one is excellent so far!! Lada is a badass villain and I love her even when she is torturing people 😵😵😵
I was able to grab this today, the day before official release. I AM SO EXCITED TO READ THIS!!!! 💜💜
A trilogy ended I believe. I will say the Aussies have had better covers for this series. I love to,see @Lizpixie s versions
